JOB REQUIREMENTS & RESPONSIBILITIES
-scheduling, processing, and shipping wholesale orders
-working directly with wholesale customers
-Assisting with production/fulfillment/packing/shipping of online retail orders
-Coordinating daily letterpress logistics
-Coordinating weekly letterpress supply inventory
-Organizing, updating, and maintaining internal documents and databases
-managing raw materials inventory
-marketing: helping create strategies, mailings, promotions, social media
-Operating and light maintenance of letterpresses: Vandercook SP15, C&P 10x15, Heidelberg Windmill
-Operating hydraulic and manual paper cutters
-Custom ink mixing
-sewing notebook binding on industrial sewing machine
-must be ok with dogs, we have 2 shop dogs at work! :)

EXPERIENCE
We are willing to train the right person. The ideal candidate will have a background in letterpress printing and/or a degree in printmaking. Experience with organization, creating schedules, being able to plan for future deadlines, admin skills, and being able to delegate tasks to fellow employees are all needed. Design experience (Illustrator & InDesign) is a plus.

HOURS
-Full-time, 40 hours a week, Monday - Friday, daily hours can be flexible
-3 month probationary period

COMPENSATION
$14-$16/hour depending on experience
-1 week Paid Time Off a year
-quarterly bonuses, starting in 6 months . This is based on a % of our gross sales for the quarter

Blackbird Letterpress is a small letterpress printing and design studio based in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. We specialize in the printing and the assembly of fine stationery, greeting cards, handmade notebooks, calendars, and other paper products. We focus on our wholesale product line but also have a small custom printing department. Our impeccable attention to detail and commitment to quality and customer service is very important to our success.
