Ida B. Wells was a tireless activist for women's suffrage and her own led anti-lynching crusade in the late 1800s and early 1900s. She was a journalist, a newspaper editor, and a great feminist. After writing about the truth of the lynching of 3 of her friends, in The Memphis Free Speech (she was part owner), the newspaper was burned down by an angry mob. She didn't stop. She was a true crusader for civil rights and was a great activist throughout her life.
