There is so much more to drawing than drawing from life! In this series of workshops, we will explore different ways of drawing, and mark making, trying a variety of media and techniques. This is an opportunity to shake up your ideas of being artistic, and let your adventurous spirit reign. Each class will be an opportunity to try new materials, or familiar materials in new ways, focusing on creativity and exploration over final compositions.
Drawing is a create way to shake up our perspective, a way of loosening creativity with just a few basic items. This class is designed for those who want to do something creative but think they cannot draw or are not artistic because they never mastered 2 point perspective. This class is also good for working artists who want a fresh approach to their work, in any medium.
June 7--Lines! In this class we will begin with just two drawing utensils and see how far we can go with it. We will use a variety of drawing exercises to loosen up our drawing muscles and see what we can make with limited materials. This class is the first in the series. This class by itself is $35 or sign up for all 3 for $100.
June 14--Color! In this class, we will introduce color! Working on what we explored in the first class, or working from your own experience we will use add a few colors to our compositions, building and creating again with limited materials for maximum creativity. This class alone is $35 or you can take all 3 classes for $100.
June 21--Ink! I find inks are a great way to get a variety of line and wash, with the saturation and definition of a hard line. We will bust our the ink bottles and and brushes, and maybe even experiment with pen nibs Again, you will be able to build upon what we have tried in other classes or take this class on its own to experiment with an unfamiliar medium. This class alone is $45 or $100 if you sign up for all three.
You may attend one class or all three. All materials will be provided, and if you sign up for all three classes at once, you will receive a sketchbook to keep!
